Technical Overview

The rotating drum provides vigorous mechanical scrubbing to break down clay, dirt, soft coatings and agglomerated material, while the discharge and integrated trommel screen provide controlled transfer and screening of the washed material. This combination offers an efficient solution for applications where washing and preliminary sizing are required within a single equipment package.

Applications

Built for continuous-duty applications, Westpro drum scrubbers provide a reliable solution for operations handling difficult feed materials that require more than simple washing or rinsing.

Why Westpro Drum Scrubbers?

The discharge arrangement provides a controlled transition from the scrubbing drum to the trommel section.
This configuration helps contain the washed material and slurry while directing the process stream into the screening section. It is particularly useful where controlled material flow, reduced spillage and integration with downstream equipment are vital.

Selecting the Right Drum Scrubber

Every application is different. Selecting the right drum scrubber starts with understanding the material and the requirements of the complete processing circuit.

Important factors include:

  • Material type
  • Maximum feed size
  • Required throughput
  • Clay and contaminant content
  • Required level of scrubbing
  • Required retention time
  • Drum size and configuration
  • Liner and wear requirements
  • Drive requirements
  • Feed and discharge conditions
  • Downstream processing equipment

Providing this information helps Westpro evaluate the application and determine an appropriate drum scrubber configuration.

Engineered for Your Application

Every scrubbing application is different. Drum diameter, drum length, rotational speed, internal lifter configuration, retention time, water addition, and trommel aperture all influence equipment performance.

Our process engineers can work with your feed characteristics and required production rate to develop a scrubber and trommel configuration suited to your application.

Let our process engineers help determine the right Drum Scrubber and Trommel configuration for your application.
